Followed by the Pre carnival process of capacitation of the staff through the skiils required to engage when Carnival arrives and the supplies are delivered to the building that then will trigger a range of work that will form this pilot project. Once established, it becomes an example to be passed on through consultancy where these same participants can then take the position of leaders in their designated fields to pass onto other cities and the basis for their own work trajectory to be valued through participation and experience with the Project Sustenta Carnaval.

These professionals will be part of a directory where their workforce will be promoted as well as the products to be created.

GOAL 10

Carnival reflects the reality of the country, where elitism and class differences are visible through the occupation of one space. This reflects the area of Praza Onze where the sambodromo is located which, at Carnival, is also populated by members of its community sections, celebrities, generations of sambistas and VIP area audience, we also have residents from the areas of Morro do Cantagalo and Pavao Pavaozinho, where they are surrounded by one of the most expensive square meters in Rio (Ipanema and Lagoa) dealing with materials that are developed and disputed and that would soon become litter.

Transforming waste into profit, into an opportunity for development and also a way to bring leadership, creativity and empowerment to these communities that, during the carnival season, would only act in the sale of ‘dry and wet’ ( trade of drinks and snacks) in the surrounding areas of the Sambodromo and Street carnival blocos, respectively.
